As a
Toastmaster, you are part of the Club. Your speeches
contribute to your own objectives, whether those be on the
Communication or Leadership tracks, and to the Club's
objectives under the Distinguished Club Plan.
But what about the other things you do? What about:
Introducing and mentoring new members?
Winning best speaker or evaluator?
Serving as a Club Officer?
Entering (even winning) contests?
Speaking at other Clubs?
Running Speechcraft and Youth Leadership?
The Toastmaster of the Year programme recognises these
other essential contributions to Toastmasters and to your
Club.
It's very simple - the more you put into Toastmasters,
the more points you earn. At the end of the year, the member
with the most points is the Toastmaster of the Year.
To enter, just download the
Club Toastmaster of the Year form, add up your points
for the year, and send the form to your President or VP
Education. Easy!
If you haven't kept a record of attendance or speeches -
no problem. Your Club Secretary will have a record of
attendance and "best" awards, and your VP Education has a
record of every duty performed. That's part of their role.
The rest is up to you - so why not have a go?
